I headed up to Mammoth for a weekend on the ski slopes. With the type of no-holds-barred skiing I like to do, a helmet was a must.
I thought it would be a good idea to take a lesson before taking on the black diamonds. Here, my group huddles with our teacher, Daniel, to discuss strategy.
We practiced getting our ski legs by balancing on one ski and pushing ourselves along. I just wanted to get to the good stuff, though; all this practice was kind of annoying.
After strapping on both sticks, I was eager to hit the pow-pow and volunteered to be the first to ride the lift up the mountain.
Here, I'm mastering the moguls, obvs.
I wasn't quite ready to ride the high-speed quad, but I thought about sneaking aboard when Teach wasn't looking.
After several runs, Daniel made moose ears out of my mittens and we called it a day. I hope to get back to the slopes again soon. I had a blast!
