Happy Halloween!

I borrowed a monkey suit for some early-evening trick-or-treating.
The costume came with an attached banana.

This flyer was posted around Sayulita.  It seems appropriate for today's post.

I rode my trike around the house before hitting the neighborhood, where I collected "bunches" of candy that my parents will probably never let me taste.

I finished up with some delicious milk.  It's no candy, but sometimes it does the "trick."

Dancing the Night Away

They finally did it: Aunt Bearbs and Uncle Kelle got married. My mom and I were in the wedding. I played the role of something called a "flower girl," but I had no idea what I was supposed to do. Was I to throw petals or pick them up? No idea.

I spent the early part of the day lounging by the pool in a "Gracie Burrito" and not worrying about my evening duties.

Then it was time for the big event. I drank my first pina colada -- virgin, of course. And there was a trunk full of costumes, so I donned a Mexican wrestling mask.

Later, I burned up the dance floor and showed the crowd a few moves.

I saved the best for Kelle and Bearbs.

I had the time of my life. Congratulations, Aunt B and Uncle Kelle!

Gracie Goes to Mexico

 Hola, I'm in Mexico!

Nobody left me "home alone," but I did my best Macaulay Culkin anyway.

The flight down to Puerto Vallarta was a dream.  There was no room in first class, so I bought three seats, slipped into my comfiest footy jams, stretched out, and watched Sesame Street on my iPod.

After a short drive to Sayulita, guess who I ran into?  Bamma!  She took me to the beach in front of the hotel to watch newly-hatched turtles head down to the ocean.

Here's how big the sea turtles were in the hands of a young gentleman who assisted with the release.

I also happened upon my Aunt Bearbs building a sandcastle.  She's the reason I'm down here; she's marrying Uncle Kelle in a couple of days.  Hasta luego!

Doing My Part for Happy Trails for Kids

On Sunday, I attended a fund-raising event for Happy Trails for Kids, an organization that provides camping experiences for children in foster care in Los Angeles County.  I thought it was about time I gave a little back to the community.  And I had a blast, too!

The main event was a hike-a-thon, but I preferred to take part in some of the less strenuous stuff that was going on.

I got my face painted, as you may have already deduced.

I scampered into the jumpy house, which is one of my favorite things in life and probably the single biggest reason why I slept so soundly last night.  I jumped and jumped and jumped.  And then I jumped some more.

I got an assist to the top of the slide.  You should have seen the look on my face as I flew toward the wall at the bottom.  Yikes!

I got a burger at the In-N-Out truck.  So good.

Later, I tested out some pumpkins.

And I thought about auditioning for CSI Pumpkin Patch.
If you're interested in making a donation to Happy Trails, which I highly recommend, check out http://www.happytrailsforkids.org/

Pumpkins and Tattoos

Howdy!  I bet you can't wait for Halloween to get here.  I'm super excited about pumpkins.
You may have noticed the pumpkin and spider tattoos on my arm.  Don't worry, they're only temporary.
See, they're wearing off already.  They'd probably be gone by now if I bathed more often....

Almost Ready for the WWF

I jumped on Bampa's back when he wasn't looking and tried out my best wrestling move, but I couldn't take him down.
Turns out, he's a little taller and a little stronger than I am.  Next time, Bampa.  Next time.

The Hunt for Orange Butterflies

I headed up to Sycamore Canyon this morning to look for Monarch butterflies.  It's supposed to be a popular fall habitat for them, but I only saw three on the actual trail.  I spotted about ten more in the parking lot after my two-and-a-half-hour hike.
I hiked and hiked, searching the skies for butterflies, as the hot sun tried to sap my energy.  As you might expect, it was a real workout for me.  But I'm used to that sort of hard work.
Oh, who am I kidding?!? I barely did any work at all.  Thanks, Sherpa!

Superstar

Need I say anything about this?

I really like to ride my bike, but I like to wear my helmet even when I'm not biking.  Sometimes I walk into stuff (bonk!), so if my helmet happens to be on, good on me!
