Back on the Beach

As you can see, the weather is pretty nice here. Hurricane Irene blew through on her way up the coast, but everything's fine now.

I headed back for some swim time at Step Beach.

It felt pretty good to stand in the sand after a couple of days away from the beach.

Sea-Worthy

Turns out, I float.

I dashed down to Children's Beach to get in a last swim before the storm.

My dad had to drag me out of the water even though my lips were blue. Or green. I'm not good with my colors yet.

Fair Weather, For Now

Hi, again. The weather has been beautiful, in advance of Hurricane Irene. Good luck to all in her path. I hope she stays clear of here.

I had lunch with Farmor and Dave.

Then I climbed up this giant anchor, which is kind of a tradition, so I'm told. I did not use a spotter, in case you were wondering.

I also played peek-a-boo with this older gentleman.

Juice Bar, Here I Come

Yesterday, I hung out with my cousins Haley and Julia. They showed me some games, and we ran around the yard until the sun went down.

At some point, Jokester Haley attached a tail to my rear end, and I ran around with it for quite some time. Just know, Haley, I have a very good memory.

After my tail fell off, Julia and Haley helped me ring the bell in Grammy and Grampy's backyard.

Then we all headed down to the Juice Bar for ice cream. I love ice cream. It's like the sand of desserts.

I told Grammy exactly what I wanted, and she got it for me. Thanks, Grammy!

Beach Bum

Hello, People! I'm back on Nantucket for my school vacation. So I'll be checking in to let you know what's going on out here on the island.

Well, I spent some time at Step Beach today. And I didn't just sit around.

I ran here.

And I ran there.

I also went swimming a couple of times with my dad. I really worked out. After that, I rested, ate lunch, and took in the view.

Picnic and Sand

I headed over to a park in Santa Monica for some sun and a sandwich. I love peanut butter, in case you didn't know.

I couldn't resist some sand time too. The weather was too nice.

I raced down to the water to fill my bucket.

And I did my best to carry it back up for my castle building and not spill.

You may recognize this pose from my swimming photos. I still have to practice, even if I'm not going in the water.

I Am Tiger, Hear Me Roar!

Today, my school held its annual summer picnic. I got my face painted and took a turn on the drums.

Henry and Suriya performed a duet.

We all danced under the parachute.

And I finished up with a refreshing snow cone.

I'm preparing for some ocean swimming later this summer, so I'm hitting every pool I can to practice my strokes.

Yesterday, I headed over to my friend Layla's house to hang out -- and to swim. Layla's not as old as I am, but I like to run with a younger crowd sometimes to keep myself current.

She is sooo cute! (Luckily, she gets most of her looks from her mom.)

I stayed in the water for a long time. Turns out, I'm kind of a fish.

Making Waves

I thought I'd revisit the pool and take some more photos to show you how my swimming skills are developing.

I'm getting pretty good at the kicking.

I can dunk my face in the water, but I don't really get how to hold my breath yet, so I freak out a little bit every time.

Sometimes I just like to make waves.

And sometimes I just have to practice my form.
