Don't You Forget About Me

Grace would have you believe that she headed up to Mammoth by herself.  In fact, I was there too.  OK, maybe I didn't go skiing; I can't even stand up, never mind stand up on skis.  But I made my own fun.

And, thankfully, there were other people there besides my sister.  For instance, I spent some time with this sweet little lady, Josie.  I may have made her smell my feet, and she still continued to hang out with me.  She's great like that.
Then my sister came along and tried to get me to arm wrestle.  She always seems to have the upper-hand, though.  I'm really going to have to think about how I can change that.

Lindsay Vonn, Eat My Snow!

I headed up to Mammoth for a weekend on the ski slopes.  With the type of no-holds-barred skiing I like to do, a helmet was a must.

I thought it would be a good idea to take a lesson before taking on the black diamonds.  Here, my group huddles with our teacher, Daniel, to discuss strategy.

We practiced getting our ski legs by balancing on one ski and pushing ourselves along.  I just wanted to get to the good stuff, though; all this practice was kind of annoying.

After strapping on both sticks, I was eager to hit the pow-pow and volunteered to be the first to ride the lift up the mountain.

Here, I'm mastering the moguls, obvs.

I wasn't quite ready to ride the high-speed quad, but I thought about sneaking aboard when Teach wasn't looking.

After several runs, Daniel made moose ears out of my mittens and we called it a day.  I hope to get back to the slopes again soon.  I had a blast!

A Big Roll

I like to do my exercises in private, but sometimes someone will catch me on film.  In this case, Aunt Kate got me.

Here's the big finish.

We Like to Party

Hey-Ho!  Last night we attended a surprise party to celebrate Bampa's birthday. I had a great time, and I think Grace did too, by the look of things.

Up, up, and away!  Grace took to the skies with hands full of balloons.

I hung out with the birthday boy and his lady for a bit.

Grace danced and clowned with Aunt B. by the jukebox and everywhere else.

In fact, Grace may have partied a little too hard.

It was a crazy night, but I managed myself well enough.  As for Grace, you can imagine how that turned out.  I will say she barely made it to her swim lesson this morning.

Mr. Ben-Fluffy-Hair

My sister has a nickname for me.  Yes, it's Mr. Ben-Fluffy-Hair.
I know I'm small, but I've been working out while she's away at school.

She can be kind of scary when she gets home, but I think I'm ready for her today.

I really don't know why she has to add "Fluffy-Hair" to my perfectly fine name.

What the what?!  Is that the front door I hear?  Don't worry.  I've got a few names for her, too.

Rock of Ages

We headed over to LACMA on Saturday for an afternoon of art appreciation.  I skipped the Mapplethorpe exhibit but checked out the new outdoor installation, Levitated Mass.

I really studied it.

I tried to touch it, but it was too high up.

In the end, I decided it was just a big rock.

Ben got his museum membership, but he mostly slept through our visit.

He woke up when our mom carried him through my favorite piece, which is one of the few that the museum encourages people to touch. We'll have to come back when Ben is a little bit older.

Who's She Kidding?

My sister, Grace, thinks she's a celebrity/supermodel and so can get away with wearing just about anything she pleases when she's not "working."  Note the boho/clown-chic getup she wore earlier this week.  (I won't ask her why she appeared to be making a secret early-morning exit from some sketchy apartment in San Diego. That's none of my business. But if she thinks she's fooling TMZ ....)

Then there's her attempt at late-eighties broken-doll-glam/I'm-not-posing posing.

I can't argue with the eyes, but the thumb-sucking?!

I've certainly seen Grace do this pose a number of times in my first four months.  If anyone has an ad campaign that needs this one, my sister is an expert!

But I will admit she's kind of pretty if you squint.
