The Out-of-Towners

Well, hello again!

I've been busy entertaining my out-of-town guests, Farmor and Dave.

I picked out a few items at the Farmers Market, at Third and Fairfax.

But all I got to eat was this dry biscuit. Actually, that's not true; I had some Mexican food from Loteria Grill -- one of my dad's favorites. It was delicious.

I also took Farmor and Dave to the little aquarium at the end of the Manhattan Beach Pier, where I showed them starfish, eels, and sharks.

After five days of rain, I made sure that the weather was perfect for the end of their visit.

Merry Christmas!

Well, hello! Here I am in my awesome new monkey beanbag chair. Did I mention that it's awesome? And that I love monkeys? I've been a little under the weather, but you know what revived me? Presents!

And family! Thanks for holding me while I drank one of my milk cocktails, Granny C.

Anyway, back to the presents! I received several great new books, and I found this GIANT one really intriguing. [Uh, someone might have told me you could see my onesie over the top of my lowrider cords. I would have pulled my shirt down. Thanks.]

I squeezed in a few phone calls, while wearing this cute, new butterfly hat.

And I took several spins on my new scooter.

I also tried on Granny C.'s new sombrero.

And when it came time to hit the sheets, I had to be pried off of the scooter, which I did not find amusing ... at all. Whatever. When I wake up tomorrow morning, I probably won't remember how miffed I was.

Jane Fonda or Justin Bieber?

Some days I'm Justin Bieber; other days I'm Jane Fonda in Klute.

Today, I'm Jane Fonda!

Who will I be tomorrow?

I'm not telling.

Tree Trimming

This is me in my snowman jammies, helping to decorate the Christmas tree.

This is also me helping decorate the tree. Believe me, my assistance was indispensable.

Here I'm sneaking a bit of chocolate from my good pal Lisa.

Christmas is Coming!

Last evening, the neighborhood had a holiday walk. The stores stayed open late and everybody was in a festive mood.

I don't know why I was placed on this gentleman's lap, but he seemed like a pleasant man. I might even say jolly.

Kate and I had fun with some balloons we found outside a bakery.

Then, just Kate had fun with the balloons, at my expense. [By the way, I love Kiehl's!]

I partied so hard I passed out and had to be taken home and put to bed. Embarrassing.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope everyone is having a great Thanksgiving.

I'm thankful for playgrounds.

And swings.

And milk. What are you thankful for?

A Sunday Play-Date

I met up with my friends Claire and Emma at this amazing universally-designed playground. It's a park created for use by all kids, no matter their abilities. It's very cool.

There are tunnels, and slides, and swings, and a giant sandbox. I enjoyed two generous mouthfuls of sand!

I rode on the see-saw with the assistance of Emma, who is very experienced at such things.

And I slid down the slide with the assistance of my dad, who is very, very experienced (a.k.a. old).

Who says there are no seasons in Southern California? One look at Claire's pink nose and you know it was a chilly fall day in old L.A.

Party Time

So, this evening I headed over to Lisa, Jazzy, and Moose's place to help celebrate Lisa's birthday.

Besides giving Lisa many hugs, I also demonstrated my new trick a couple of times....

Look, Ma, no hands! I'm a free-stander.

This is a little move I like to call "the butter-maker."

My pal Jen and I checked out this fascinating magazine. It turns out Blake Lively is a really interesting person. I have to ask, though, Who has the more beautiful eyes?

Happy Birthday, Lisa!

Ring, ring!

Brrriiinnngg!!
"Hello? Yes, this is Gracie."
"Oh hey! So glad you called! Can you hold on a minute? Thanks."

"Um, I'm, like, on the phone? So maybe no photos? Like, don't you guys have lives?"

"Thanks."

"Sorry, gal. So, what were you saying? Oh GIRL! No he didn't . . ."

Veteran's Day

Slackajack Mouse and I want to thank all the men and women who have served to protect our country (like my grandpas and great-grandpas - thank you!). God bless you.

It's a beautiful day here and we have the day off, so Slackajack and I headed over to the park.

The wind blew through our hair.

And we talked about stuff.
Hey, Lisa, Slackajack says "Hi!"

Another Tooth

Check out my new tooth. It's the front one that's just poking through. I'm pretty excited about it.

My pre-bedtime ritual, as you probably know already, is to read one of my favorite books. I'm pretty serious about it.

Tonight it was Cat the Cat, Who is That?, by Mo Willems. I really "get" Mo. He tells it like it is. I highly recommend his Pigeon books. They are ridiculously good.

Happy Halloween!

This afternoon I got dressed up as a scary dragon. A full-on, head-to-diaper dragon.

I hit the streets, trolling for treats. The costume was a bit cumbersome, and maybe I wasn't the most cooperative kid on the block. But I got the job done.

The stores in my neighborhood were all giving away candy, so the sidewalks were crowded with all sorts of pirates, witches, and characters from the Toy Story movies.

Stop staring at my legs!

After a while, I was allowed to take a rest. But, in spite of what it looks like, I did not get to eat any of my candy. Rats!

Finally, I want to take this opportunity to tell my good pal Laura that I'm going to miss her, and I hope she comes back real soon. I like you, Kid.
