The Weekend Report

Hey, people! Not too much to report from the weekend.

I had a little breakfast at Snug Harbor with my friend Ursula, who was in town visiting from Billings. I recommend the fresh banana. And I recommend Snug Harbor. The waitresses there are the best!

Then it was back to Grandma and Grandpa's for a week of rest and relaxation.

I'd like some feedback from you guys. Do these pants seem a little tight on me? How about the waist? Is it too high? Let me know what you think.

A Brand New Bag

Milk Lady's Husband got me a brand new bag!
It's supposed to be for toys, but I thought I'd hop in and make sure it was suitable for my things.

Seems alright.

OK! I'm ready. Hey, how do I get out of this thing?

Oh, right.

I feel like I'm not getting anywhere with this.

Whew. Sweet freedom!

Vacation's End

Sorry I haven't been posting the last couple of days. I've been busy. I tried to fit everything in, and then I ran out of time. So here are my greatest hits, so to speak.

I may not have participated in the sandcastle contest as a builder, but I'm not above taking advantage of a photo-op. Here I am with my entourage. I told them what to do, and they did it.

GOT CHOWDAH?

I dined on lobster again. I just may eat it at every meal. I should have what I want, right?

Farmor and Dave, my chief babysitters while visiting the island, came down to see me off at the ferry.

Grammy and Grampy came down too. They said they'd miss me. The truth is, I'll miss all of them, too.

Bye-bye, Nantucket. I'll be back as soon as I can.

Another Day at the Beach and Big News

First off, the big news: I've got a bottom tooth breaking through -- finally.
The sun came out, so I spent the afternoon at Madaket Beach.

I blew a nose bubble, I was so excited. Gross, I know, but also hilarious!

A first, I thought I'd just watch the waves roll in. I was intrigued.

But, lucky for me, there was no surf, so I hopped right in and took a swim. The lifeguards looked worried, but I was fine.

I don't mean to be a nudge, but I want to remind all of you that when you're outside you need to be wearing sunscreen. (Hey, Banana Boat, I'm available if you need a spokesmodel.)

I also practiced my sandcastle-building skills. I may try my hand at the sandcastle contest on Saturday.

Step Beach

I could get used to this.

I finally made it down to Step Beach for my first ocean swim. My kick is pretty good, according to Uncle Scott.

I have to admit I ate a lot of sand today. I know I've previously implied that sand-eating is weird, but I just had to try it.

I also people-watched with my pal Harry. I have to say I was not amused by some of the outfits I saw people wearing. Thankfully -- for you and for them -- I did not take any photos of the nonsense.

Island Life

I'm getting used to island life. Today I met the author of Nat, Nat, the Nantucket Cat, Peter Barnes. Real nice guy; works for Fox News. Let's not hold that against him.

Then I met another local celebrity, my cousin Julia. We had a ball! No, really. We had a ball. We were throwing it back and forth. Then I ate a magazine.

At dinner I tried something delicious . . . LOBSTAH!!

Do I have something on my face?

I offered to eat the check.

Mesh Prison

Is it really a vacation if I have to spend half the time in a mesh prison? Even if the mesh prison comes with a water view? I amused myself with this new teething toy that Aunt Lil and Uncle Perry gave me today. I think it looks quite fetching as a tiara.

I spent some obligatory Milk-Lady time with You-Know-Who. She seemed to enjoy it.

Then I had some real fun with Aunt Lil a.k.a. Aunt Lily Pad. She's a hoot.

And I tried to catch Uncle Perry's nose a couple of times. His a.k.a. is "Uncle Perry," by the way.

Later, I spent some obligatory time with Milk Lady's Husband as the sun went down. He seemed to enjoy it.

Rainbow Fleet

This morning, I watched the wooden sailboats heading out of the harbor for the Opera House Cup race.

I hung, literally, with Milk Lady's Husband, Uncle Scott, and Aunt Cammy.

But I didn't hear any opera singing or see any houses or cups, so I don't know what that's about. All I can say is that there were a lot of sailboats. Also, I couldn't play in the sand, because someone claimed I would eat it, which is ridiculous. Who does that?!?

Later, I played ball with Grampy.

And I tried to eat Grammy's necklace -- one of my favorite pastimes.

My Trip to Nantucket Begins

I had lunch at Slip 14. I recommend the oyster crackers, broken into bits.

I entertained myself with a simple toy,

and read a book.

Earlier, I kicked back at the Farmers and Artisans Market with Farmor.

Saturday in the Park

I headed over to Virginia Avenue Park for a picnic with my schoolmates. I tried out the hula hoop for the very first time.

I got the hang of it after just a few tries. And I didn't even have to stand up to do it.

Later, I checked out the water fountains, which are awesome.

I tried to wiggle my way over to the water, but somebody caught me before I could get there. Next time, I'll have to be quicker.

Chuck E's in Love!

I hung out with my pals at the beach again for another concert; this time we listened to Rickie Lee Jones and ate chocolate chip cookies. Well, I ate sand, but other people ate the cookies.

I have dreams of one day riding the ferris wheel on the pier.

I have nothing to say about this silliness. I will note that I do not yet dress myself.
