I'm Going to Disneyland Again!

Surprise!  My vacation isn't really over.  I just changed locations.  Now I'm visiting with Bamma and Bampa back in California.  Here, I'm concentrating on the "wildlife" on Disneyland's Jungle Cruise -- one of my favorite rides.

I took my usual break from the chaos to do a little reading in the old-timey kids' restroom area.

It really is a small world.  (Too easy, I know.)

How about some fresh guacamole for the table?  Yeah!

Vacation's End

So, my vacation has come to an end.

But it didn't end before I had one more lunch at the club with Farmor (and Dave).

I followed that up with milk and cookies with Grammy...

... and hugs from Grampy.  Bye-bye, Nantucket!

The Princess of Tides

Yesterday was just another day at the beach.

I made a "tide pool" and filled it with seaweed and salt water.

It was really difficult keeping the sea wall of sand in place as the tide came in, but I bossed my staff around to get the job done.

Then I was back to getting more water.

 And more water.

I'm sorry that there aren't more pictures of me swimming, but my photographer has a difficult time keeping the camera dry while at the same time making sure I don't venture out over my head.  And there was also that sea wall to maintain.

I'm a Fish

Yesterday, I practiced my swimming strokes at Children's Beach.

 This is my kick.

I don't know what this is, but I'm doing it pretty well, don't you think?

Later, I played a little badminton with my pal Dave.

I'm crazy about this game.  I did not want to quit playing.

Beaches

I've been checking out different beaches during my vacation.  This one's Brant Point.  There's lots of boat activity and the lighthouse, of course.  I'm told it holds some significance to my parents for some reason.

I think my favorite right now is Step Beach.  The water and sand combination seems to be just right.  And someone always carries me down all those steps.

I got busy making my famous salsa sand soup.  You should try it when you can.  I don't make it that often.

The recipe calls for a lot of salt water.

I mean a lot of salt water.  I made a bunch of trips down to the water's edge to get the correct amount.

But I didn't mind, because I love just being in the water.

Cousins and Crabs

The cousins left the island the other day, but not before we had some more fun.

Josefin and I hung out on the deck one afternoon watching the boats go by.  I became her super-fan when I noticed her cute dress.  Tinker Bell is the best!

We all went to the Maria Mitchell aquarium, where they have a touch pool with lots of interesting see creatures in it.  Nice nails, Haley.  And the crab's pretty cool, too.

Later, we played in Farmor's backyard and "posed" for photos.  I'm not a poser, though.

I said goodbye to my cousins Lindsey and Teresa before they left.  But, like I said, I'm no poser.

Some of My Favorite Things

I enjoy swimming with my mom, of course.

I also like to stroll the beaches looking for minnows, crabs, and the interesting shell.

I just can't get enough of the water, obvs.

A trip to Nantucket is not complete without a visit to the candy room at the back of the Force 5 water-sports store.  There you will find a treasure trove of the world's finest creations.  Also, the air conditioning is on the coldest setting possible -- perfect for protecting those delicate sugary confections.  It's amazing.

At the end of the day, though, I favor a delicious vanilla ice cream cone and a stroll down a country lane.  I'm a simple girl, really.

Swimming with Swedes

So, I'm still on vacation and having a great time.  I'm sorry it takes me so long to post, but I'm often off the grid for long periods of time.  That's island life!

Have I mentioned that we ended up on the wrong island?  That's right.  I'm not going to name the airline -- a Greek letter -- but they cancelled our connecting flight out of JFK and could only get us to the above-named locale.  They thought that was good enough.  The airport was cute, but apparently the airline thought we could swim the rest of the way.

Maybe we did!  Anyway, my Swedish cousins, Emelie and Josefin, have come for a visit this week.  We all headed out to the beach the other day.  I tried to keep up, but it's not fair when your legs are as short as mine are.

After I caught up, we hung out in the water, where height made no difference.  They taught me some Swedish, and I taught them some English.

"Du kan inte ta mej! Du kan inte ta mej! You can't catch me!  You can't catch me!"

On Vacation

In case you were unaware, I'm on vacation.  I made it to the beach today.  I just wanted to be in the water every second, but my handlers grew concerned about my blue lips, so I had to take some beach timeouts.  That was fine, for a few minutes.

Yesterday, I went shopping and stopped by a toy store for a bit.  They had this cool ship's wheel outside.

Aaarg!  Now I've a hook for a hand!

Picnic in the Park

Last weekend, I attended my school's annual summer picnic.  There were water balloons, which I went crazy about.

I got Spiderman painted on my arm.

My good friend Henry opted for some face paint and a chocolate chip cookie.

We all enjoyed snow cones.

At one point I slipped into my bathing suit and snuck over to the splash pad for a little water time.

But I came back for the music and took a turn on the drums.
