Best Day of the Year

It doesn't get any better than Halloween.  Dressing in costume.  Hanging with friends.  Eating candy.

Yep. Nothing better.

So, I headed over to Big Zoe's part of town for some good, old-fashioned trick-or-treating.  Zoe dressed as Sofia the First, and I was Angelina Ballerina.  Later, I traded my mouse ears for a tiara and became Amber, Sofia's step-sister.

Zoe's little brother was Clark Kent, Man of Steel.  He was spot on.

Zoe and I had the run of the neighborhood, free of the encumbrance of parents.

We had to move fast to collect as much candy as possible before bedtime arrived.

Ben did his share of running, too.

Dinosaur down! Don't worry, he was fine.

Best day ever!  How soon 'til next Halloween?

Winners Winning!

I know it looks like I'm trying to sell you a television, but I was really excited to watch the Red Sox play the Cardinals in game six of the World Series tonight.  I mean really excited.  If I could just tear myself away from that movie about ponies I was watching on Netflix....

Ben adjusted the rabbit ears, so we wouldn't miss a moment of the game.  He's really good at fiddling with things.

I got nervous being so close to my favorite player, Big Poopie, even though he was actually 3000 miles away.  I always want him to get a hit.  And most times he does!  ("M-V-P! M-V-P!")

Ben felt bad for the Cards' starting pitcher, Michael Wacha, who had a rough night.  That was a lot of pressure to put on a kid.

Ben was asleep by the time the game was over, but he celebrated during dinner, knowing in his heart that the Red Sox would be World Champions when he awoke the next morning.  Sweet dreams, little buddy.

A Walk in the Park

Can I get anyone a cocktail?

Oh, I kid.  I can't serve you alcohol in a public park!

The Art of Dance

Sometimes movement is all about the absence of motion.
And that is dance.

Some Real Clownery

Over the weekend, we spent some quality time with our Aunt B. as we continued my birthday week celebrations.  Aunt B. is a real laugh riot.

She and Grace are two of a kind, but sometimes I just don't get their humor.

Aunt B. sure does bring out the best in Grace, though.

Made for Walkin'

So, it's official.  I walked today.  I took multiple unassisted steps, a couple of times.  There are no photos of this new skill I've developed; I'm not a trained monkey.
The stuff on my face?  Cake, of course.  As everyone knows, grownups just love watching newbies shove messy frosting in their mouths and all over their faces.  They think it's hilarious.  Go ahead.  Laugh away.

Here I am, waiting for everyone to take their seats for the show.

My trainer stayed at my side to keep me hydrated.

I just hope I made as big a mess as everyone had hoped for.  (Take a look back at that first photo again.)  I tried my best, as I always do.

Time for Our Check-Ups

We share the same pediatrician, so it makes sense to schedule our appointments for the same time.  The doctor asked about Gracie's thumb-sucking habit; he didn't say he thought she was too old for it, but you could tell he was thinking it.

Oh, hi there.  Just waiting for my shots.
Thumb-sucking: Who does that?!

Me Party

Yes! I turned one year old today.

I partied 'til I dropped, of course.
