Messing Around

 Grace has been under the weather this week, but that doesn't mean I can't have fun.  I mean, there's still a social calendar full of stuff to do.  Saturday I was busy at the Culver City Car Show, which meant visiting the fire station and having my way with one of the engines.

 Where's the fire?  I'm ready!

I also attended an art party to celebrate my friend Zoey's birthday.

                                                 

If it looks like it was a mess, it was a mess. But they're smart about things there.  They know kids can't be trusted with spray bottles filled with paint.

A Day of Mighty Machines

 I took my dad to Truck Adventures at Santa Anita race track yesterday so he could climb on all kinds of trucks and press all kinds of buttons on those trucks.  I showed him how to climb inside a wheel well.

 I also showed him how to climb up to the cab of a front loader.

 Here I'm demonstrating how to drive a city bus through the busy streets of L.A.

I got to sit at the controls of one of my all-time favorites, the Bobcat.  It was amazing.

 Look how fast I am out of the race track starting gates, which had been set up outside the stadium.  No horse could catch me!

I also pretended to be a bad guy, which you can tell by where I ended up in this police car.  They let me go with a warning.

Grace found out that her presidential candidate was scheduled to make an appearance at Los Angeles Southwest College Saturday morning, so she put on her game face and hopped in the car.  Grace is ready for a girl president.

We waited patiently in the warm sun.  There were hundreds of people, and the line snaked all the way around the building and down the road.  And just when it seemed like we wouldn't get a chance to see her ...

Secretary Clinton slipped out a side door and greeted the overflow crowd with a few words before she headed up to the main event.   We were only a few feet away.  It was pretty exciting.

It's too bad we're not old enough to vote.

Party Like a ...

Last weekend I attended a birthday party with a bunch of my friends. For the first thirty minutes or so I tortured my dad by screaming, "I wanna go home!" But, as you can see, eventually I was able to turn it around. I just want to let all of you know that I'm not always the sweet little boy you see here; sometimes I can be a real pill.

Come Fly with Me

 Last Sunday, I attended the Redondo Beach Kite Festival.  I brought along Grace's kite, so don't tell her.  She'll be mad.

 I may have tangled up the tails a time or two.

 I pleaded with my dad to help me fly with the kite, but he just wouldn't do it, so I just had to stay on the ground.

But all ended well, 'cause I got to have ice cream on the pier with my pal Zoey.

Sunday Fun-Day

After a night of heavy rain, and in anticipation of another rainstorm on the way, we drove to Palos Verdes to see what was happening at the South Coast Botanic Garden.  It turns out there were Lego sculptures all over the place.

Look, I'm a boy made out of Legos -- except for my face, because no one could ever replicate my face with Legos.

That's a Lego rose over my shoulder.

A giant Lego hummingbird flew in for some nectar.

We took advantage of the wide-open fields and bountiful sunshine.

For some reason, there were also violins for kids to try out, so we did.  Grace seems like a natural.

As for me? Not so much.

Happy Birthday, Mister President

 In honor of Presidents' Weekend, my friend Smith and I vacationed in Dana Point with our sisters.

 We climbed the pyramids.

And we went on pony rides.

I may have gone a bit crazy on the splash pad by the pool.

But the weather was hot.

And the water was cool.

Plus, I just like getting wet whenever I can.
